Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 28, 2026

Habka (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is an offline-first multiplayer party game platform built for friends who want to play together on the same Wi-Fi without needing the internet, with an optional online mode for play across networks. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and what you control.

What stays on your device

The following information is stored only on your device and is never sent to our servers:

You can clear all of this at any time by uninstalling the app.

What is exchanged during gameplay

When you join a lobby, your player name, avatar, and player ID are shared with the other devices in the same lobby so they can render seats and route game messages back to you. Game actions you take — buzzer presses, votes, text answers, ready toggles — are exchanged during play.

How this data travels depends on which mode you are in:

Local network discovery

On your Wi-Fi, Habka advertises and discovers other Habka hosts via mDNS / Bonjour (Apple's local discovery protocol). These broadcasts include the lobby name, capacity, and a short routing token. They stay on the local network and are not transmitted to our servers. iOS will prompt you the first time the app uses local network discovery; you can revoke this permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network → Habka.
